Wonders never seize,as some issues make me think of what life holds for our little kids and the ones unborn. The Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrate Court has remanded the 40-year-old Proprietor of a private school in police custody for allegedly raping a 10-year-old pupil.
The man, Mr. Ibitoye Tunde, the proprietor of a private nursery/primary school at Fayemi, New Market, Agric, Road, Ado Ekiti allegedly had carnal knowledge.
The accused person was alleged to have taken advantage of the girl four times, but was unlucky on June 10, when a passerby, who saw his car parked became suspicious of the car, and traced the owner to the bush path where he saw the accused person with the little girl naked.
He reportedly used a handkerchief to clean up the sperm on the girl’s private part with the passerby raising the alarm, which attracted others.
The accused person, however, denied the charge, saying he only went to defecate in the bush, while he parked his car along the road with the little girl inside.
On his way to the bush, he said he met some hoodlums, who were smoking Indian hemp and requesting money from him. According to him, when he refused to give them money, they became angry.
He claimed the boys told him they would implicate him and immediately he came out from the bush they started shouting and beating him that he had raped the little girl in his car.
He said it was the police patrol team passing by that saved his life. The prosecutor, Mr. Onwucheka S.N, opposed the bail application of the accused person, saying such case had become rampant in the state, particularly in Ado Ekiti Magisterial District. Magistrate Adegboye refused the bail application pending the Director of Public Prosecution’s advice.
He ordered that the accused person be remanded in the police custody and adjourned the case till June 26, 2013 for hearing.
