Seven years after an unwanted pregnancy forced her to drop out of the University of Ilorin, Aishat Farooq emerges the best graduating student of the Bells University of Technology, Ota, Ogun State, reports Temitayo Famutimi. When Aishat Farooq gained admission into the University of Ilorin at 15, to study Zoology, little did she know that she was not going to be an alumnus of the institution. That was in 2003. Despite the fact that she was a high flyer in her first two years in UNILORIN, the now 25-year-old indigene of Ilorin West-Local Government Area of Kwara State got distracted along the line. She played the campus love game and got a shocking result: she got pregnant.

The speaker of the Taraba State house of Assembly is d*ad. He d*ed this morning of an undisclosed ailment at the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, the Taraba state capital. Two People D*ed On Massive Traffic At Onitsha Bridge;HOW ?

Report gathered state that two persons yesterday d*ed on top of the Niger Bridge, Onitsha in Anambra State following a heavy traffic jam on the bridge. The victims, a middle-aged man and a little child, allegedly d*ed due to exhaustion arising from the long hours spent in their vehicles while trying to cross the Niger Bridge which passage has for some time now remained a nightmare to both transporters and their passengers. Sources, however, said that the deceased whose identities were not immediately known was a minor who was coming back with his mother in a commercial bus from Lagos, while the second victim, was a trader who travelled all the way from the North to Onitsha to sell his goods. Report reaching US states that the Kano State Coordinator of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr. Sanusi Abdulrasheed, has lamented that 89 per cent of corps members in the country could neither write good application nor communicate effectively in English Language. He stated that the majority of the corps members were more at home with the use of “broken English” as a means of communication. Mr. Abdulrasheed made the disturbing disclosure yesterday in Kano during the passing out parade (POP ) of the present batch of corps members, where he noted that the findings were based on a nationwide research facilitated by the management of the scheme.

What a case, the Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 37-year-old man, Ajibola Idowu, for kidn*pping the daughter of his landlord and kept her captive for three years. He was also said to have forcefully impregnated the victim, Modupe Brown, during her captivity. After Ajibola impregnated Modupe and she gave birth, he refused to allow her take the child for immunization so that people will not see her hence she won't escape from him. As a result, the child was said to have contracted polio disease and subsequently became crippled.
