Hospital In Lagos Uses Battery Lamp During Surgery

This is real, not a joke. It happened here in our beloved country Nigeria, to be precised Lagos State. You might also think is a staged setting, but my dear, its not. It actually took place in a prominent teaching hospital in Lagos. Dont be confuse, we are in a nation that tells you "Never Expect Power Always". In case you still can not figure out what is happening here, then i will interprete it for you.  In the picture above, a surgery is taking place. Not on a Cadaver( dead human bodies used by medical students for practicals) but on a living being...
.

There is no power supply at the moment and they couldnt wait for the generator to be on, maybe no fuel,or it was faulty or the operator was no where to be found or probably  no generator.  So they resort to using battery operated lamp. We see the OR Technician holding the lamp while the doctors carry on with the procedure. There is no point in listing basic medical equipment’s that are absent in this operating room. The absence of  electricity to power the electric bulbs makes the whole process a big joke. However, this is no joke. In some countries, this can not even happen to a dog.  It is embarrasing to see  this gross disregard for human live. I wonder if this patient survived. Thank God for doctors that can operate under this condition. Thank goodness for battery lamps, God help our nation, Nigeria is ours, Nigeria... we serve.
