HEALTH TIP; Herbs Against Food P*isoning

According to microbiologists, there are certain organisms that causes food poisoning and infection. But we will like to focus on food poisoning. Food poisoning are mostly caused by the species of these bacterial organisms. they are clostridium, staphylococcus, streptococcus e.t.c. Not to worry, as possible and quick way has being released on how to treat the food poisoning with the use of herbs. Food poisoning is treated by the following plants:

• Rosemary: if you eat spoiled meat, it will cause food poisoning. It will lead to oxidation of the fat in the meat, which can be noticed by a very bad smell. It was found that the rosemary contains chemical substances, antioxidants, which makes it a plant with which you can protect the meat and prevent its putrescence. Numerous studies have shown that this way of protecting the food from oxidation is better than the effect of a number of substances that are used for food storage, such as BHT and BHA. To achieve this goal it can be used rosemary oil or its leaves. The leaves are ground, and then put on/in the food (meat, hamburger, tuna, macaroni, salad, potatoes and similar types of food). You must pay attention the leaves of rosemary to be taken with meals that are similar to its taste. Also, it is good to know that rosemary greatly helps in the process of the digestion of food

• Sage (common/garden sage): it has about the same effect as rosemary. It is used in the same way to keep the meat and other food that subject to oxidation

• Thyme: the studies regarding thyme have shown that this herb is effective against a large number of bacteria, as well as against the viruses that cause various diseases. This means that, if added to the food, prevents its putrescence, and therefore food poisoning. Having in mind this feature for disinfection, the thyme can be used as a medicine for disinfection of the wounds by taking a few fresh leaves and put it directly on the wound (injury)

• Apple: modern studies have confirmed that pectin, which the apple has, particularly in the peel, cleans the body of toxic heavy metals such as lead, mercury and others. This feature makes the apple a very useful kind of food that prevents food poisoning. Also, it is particularly useful for residents of large cities (metropolis), which are exposed to high concentrations of various toxic substances, such as lead, present in the exhaust gases of the cars and smog;

• Cinnamon: it contains substances that have a natural effect and neutralize a large number of harmful bacteria, viruses and microbes. This feature puts the cinnamon among the plants that are useful for the treatment of intestinal problems and food poisoning. The cinnamon is taken in the form of tea that is prepared by putting a half to three-quarters of small tablespoons cinnamon in a cup of boiling water. Drink one cup of the tea three times a day. This tea can be used for washing and disinfection of the oral cavity

• Carnation: one of the characteristics of the plant is that it acts to neutralize a large number of different species of microbes. Because of this, the carnation is considered as an effective remedy for bowel problems, food poisoning or diarrhea caused by the action of a pathogen. It disinfects the intestine and neutralize the parasites in them. The carnation is used as a remedy in the form of tea that is prepared by putting a teaspoon of minced carnation in a glass of boiling water, leave it for 10-20 minutes and drink one cup, three times a day. Be careful not to give carnation to children who do not have two years yet and older children can make tea from dried carnation, but in small amounts and only when necessary
